On March 6, 2026, Quantara Consulting hosted a discussion session with several leaders from the BPR (Bank Perekonomian Rakyat) industry around an increasingly critical topic: how BPR institutions can become more data-driven in their decision-making.
Across industries, organizations are generating more data than ever before. Yet for many institutions, the challenge is not the availability of data—but the ability to translate data into meaningful strategic insights.
For BPR leaders, this challenge is particularly relevant. Operating in a competitive and rapidly evolving financial landscape requires leaders to make decisions that are not only timely, but also grounded in reliable insights.
One key perspective we shared during the session is that becoming data-driven does not begin with technology, begins with how leaders think.
Before data can guide decisions, leaders must first develop the ability to interpret information strategically:
identifying patterns behind the numbers
asking the right questions
connecting operational data with long-term institutional goals
In other words, data becomes valuable only when leaders are able to think strategically about what it means and how it should inform action.
Building on this foundation, the discussion explored how BPR institutions can begin strengthening their capabilities in data analytics. Rather than treating data simply as reporting tools, organizations can leverage analytics to:
identify emerging risks earlier
understand customer behavior more deeply
evaluate business performance more accurately
support more proactive and strategic decision-making
Throughout the session, we also shared several practical insights and examples of best practices within the BPR sector, highlighting how institutions can gradually build stronger analytical capabilities without requiring complex systems at the early stages.
What made the session particularly valuable was the open exchange of perspectives among participants. Leaders shared their experiences, challenges, and aspirations for how data can better support the growth and sustainability of their institutions.
The conversation reinforced an important insight: becoming a data-driven organization is not a one-time transformation—it is a continuous capability-building process.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the BPR institutions that joined the discussion:
BPR Rifi Maligi
BPRS Rizky Barokah
BPR Pinang Artha
BPR Artha Sarana Abadi
Thank you for the thoughtful discussion and shared commitment to strengthening the future of the BPR industry.
We look forward to continuing this conversation and engaging with more leaders in future sessions.
